Introducing “Rejoice!” Music Video
We are excited to introduce Oxygen Music's new worship music video, "Rejoice!"
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
(1 Thessalonians 5:16–18)
Is it really possible to rejoice always?
Life is filled with sorrow, suffering, disappointments, struggles, and worries. There are many moments when rejoicing seems impossible. So why does the Bible tell us to "rejoice always"?
Scottish theologian James Houston writes in his book The Transforming Friendship:
"What is the difference between joy and happiness? Joy is the soul's response to experiencing the love of God, while happiness is a reaction to favorable circumstances. Joy transforms the way we live, whereas happiness is temporary and changes with our circumstances."
When the Bible says, "Rejoice always," it does not mean we should always feel happy. Rather, it is the promise that when the joy of the Lord fills our hearts, we can rejoice regardless of our circumstances.
So where does this joy of the Lord come from?
It begins when we realize that our Heavenly Father not only loves us—He delights in us.
In the parable of the prodigal son, the father did far more than simply forgive his son. He ran to him, embraced him, and celebrated his return with a great feast. Seeing his father's overflowing joy, the son discovered true joy for himself.
Jesus Christ conquered death—the very source of our deepest despair—and rose again in victory. Even now, our Heavenly Father invites us to join His celebration of victory and to rejoice with Him.
It is our prayer that through this worship song, you will be filled with the joy of the Lord and be inspired to worship Him with all your heart.
